There are some special rules for DK domain name registration and management.
- Can be registered for maximum 1 year at the registry.
- IDN characters can be used.
- No documentation is necessary.
- At least two DNS servers which are approved by the registry must be used. The DNS approval status and DNS server registration can be done via https://www.dk-hostmaster.dk/en/find-domain-name and https://www.dk-hostmaster.dk/english/technical-administration/dns-server-contacts/apply-for-nameserver/ form respectively.
- At the registration stage if you have a Danmark address your CVR number, in other cases your VAT (tax) number is required.
- Danmark addresses are verified with CPR-register (Danish Civil Registration Register) and for others verification is done via postal mail sent to your contact address. If not verified your domain can be deleted by the registry.
- Registry sends you a mail at registration stage. You need to login and activate your domain at https://www.dk-hostmaster.dk/index.php?id=177&area=aktiver with the user name and password inside that email. Domains that are not activated within waiting period are deleted by the registry.
- DNS changes must be approved by the registry. For that you need to fill in the DNS change form whose link is given above. After submission the registry will send you a confirmation email.
- Contact changes can only be done via DK registry website.
- Renewals must be done at least 26 days prior to expiration date.
- Internal transfer can only be done by filling, printing and signing the form located at https://www.dk-hostmaster.dk/english/self-service/forms/transfer/. This form needs to be emailed or faxed or postal mailed to the regisytry.
- DK domain names are deleted 25 days before the expiration date. There is no renewal waiting period or restoration phase.
